“it´s a card from Lily.” Hermione smiled to herself as she heard Harry get up from his chair and stumble into the kitchen.

“Oh really?” he asked and tried to sound nonchalantly, which wasn´t working.

“Don´t pretend you weren´t waiting for this since the day the kids left.” she smiled again and Harry, who had to admit that he was caught, smiled back while wrapping his arms around his wife from behind and looked down on the card.

Not many students sent home letters or parcels from Hogwarts, they were frankly too busy, but Lily Potter always sent at least one card to her parents when she arrived at Hogwarts each year. It was never a moving picture though, Lily always used the muggle camera she had gotten as a birthday present from her parents on her 11th birthday.

Since both her parents had grown up in the muggle world she was familiar with Muggle items and she had always loved all the traditions they had kept in the family. Albus and James had always been more interested in the wizzarding world and they were boys after all, so sending heartfelt letters home to their parents had never been an option.

Lily loved it though and she also loved the thought of making her parents smile, maybe she would get her brothers to take one picture with her this year.
